Eligibility for M. Tech. –I semester admissions
1. in Water Resources Development & Irrigation Engg. (Civil Engg. Dept)–BE/B Tech/Equivalent degree in Civil Engg.
2. in Thermal Engg. (Mechanical Engineering Department)- BE/B Tech/equivalent degree in Mechanical Engg.
3. in Chemical Process Design (Chemical Engineering Department). –BE/B.Tech./Equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering.
4. in Computer Technology (Electrical Engineering Department)
-B.E./B.Tech/Equivalent degree in Computer Science and Engg, Electrical Engg, Electronics & Tele-Communication, Information Technology and M.Sc. (Computer Science).
5. in Applied Geology.
-BSc with Geology as one elective subject.
OR -
BE/BTech in Mining Engg.
6. Valid GATE scores with minimum cut-off scores/marks to avail of scholarship/assistantship. Non-GATE candidates can also be considered without scholarship/fellowship if seats remain vacant after giving admission to GATE score holders.
7. B.E./B.Tech. with minimum 60% marks in qualifying degree examination.
8. Good character certificate from the Head of Institution studied last.
9. Cast certificate if any.
10. Reservation as per Central Government rules. .

The National Institute of Technology Raipur (NIT Raipur) is a technical institution funded by the Government of India, located in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Founded in 1956 as Govt. College of Mining & Metallurgy with two engineering disciplines, mining and metallurgy, the institute is one of the oldest of its kind in India. Currently it is one of the 20 National Institutes of Technology, which have been accorded Institute of National Importance status by the NIT Act of the Indian Government. The institute offers 2 undergraduate (B.Tech. and B.Arch.) and 2 post graduate programmes M.Tech. and M.C.A. in 11 engineering disciplines and architecture.
