Delhi University academic session starts from July 1.

1) Last date of admission to various DU college is : Jult 13 (before conversion of OBC seats)

2) Last date of admission for converted seats : July 23.

3) Last date of admission after VC condones it : August 31.

4) Notification for OBC seats by the colleges : July 15

Sale of application for SC, ST and the physically handicapped categories will begin from May 28, 2011

Admission for SC/ST categories will go on till July 25. 

DU anncounced cut-off list dates June 15, June 21, June 27, July 2 and July 8 for admission to undergraduates courses in various colleges under Delhi University.

There are 13770 seats reserved for SC/ST/PH candidates across colleges under Delhi University. 

For general candidates 27270 seats are reserved and 14580 seats for OBC candidates. 

Admission to Delhi University (DU) distance education courses will begin from June 1. Those candidates who are not able to get admission to full time courses, have the chance to get admission for distance learning courses.

About DU

The University of Delhi was established in 1922 as a unitary, teaching and residential university by an Act of the Central Legislative Assembly. The first convocation of Delhi University was also held in the Assembly Hall in Old Secretariat Building which now houses the Legislative Assembly of Delhi, on 26 March 1923 with 750 invitees. Honorary Degrees were conferred on Lord Reading (Viceroy of India), Sir Md. Jahan and Sir Hari Singh Gaur, the first Vice Chancellor of the University.[3] Only three colleges existed then in Delhi: St. Stephens College founded in 1881, Hindu College founded in 1899 and Ramjas College founded in 1917, which were affiliated to the University. The University thus had a modest beginning with just three colleges, two faculties (Arts and Science) and about 750 students.
