ASM Undergraduate Teaching Fellowship 2011 

American Society For Microbiology, Washington

Eligibility : Applicants who do not meet all eligibility requirements will not be considered. Eligible student candidates for the fellowship must:
Be enrolled as full-time matriculating undergraduate students during the 2012-2013 academic year at an accredited U.S. Institution,
Be involved in an educational outreach project,
Be a science major interested in Education,
Have a faculty an ASM member at their home institutions willing to serve as a co-mentor,
Have a teacher or coordinator from a local school/community site willing to serve as a co-mentor, and Not receive other financial support for the project during the fellowship

The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) is a scientific organization, based in the United States although with over 43,000 members throughout the world. It is the largest life science professional organization and its members include those whose interests encompass basic and applied aspects of virus, bacteria, fungi, algae and protozoa as well as other aspects of microbiology. The society was created in 1899 and was called the Society of American Bacteriologists from 1899 until December 1960.
The mission of the American Society for Microbiology is to advance the microbiological sciences as a vehicle for understanding life processes and to apply and communicate this knowledge for the improvement of health and environmental and economic wellbeing worldwide. To achieve these goals, ASM:
